Abbie's Story 

 I started creating art as a little girl with my grandma, who was an incredible oil painter. She taught me more than just how to paint, she taught me how to use art as a way to serve, to uplift others, and to share the light of Christ. When she passed away when I was 14, I knew I wanted to carry her legacy forward, not just in the way I paint, but in the reason I paint.

Art, for me, is deeply spiritual. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my faith is at the center of everything I do, and that includes my work as an artist. Creating helps me process life, worship Jesus Christ, and connect with people on a level deeper than words. Whether I’m working in oils, graphite, digital mediums, stained glass, or painting murals, every piece I create is a testimony of the things I believe most, that we are known, seen, and loved by a God who is near. 

I’ve had the opportunity to study under artists I admire like Dan Wilson, Jenedy Paige, and Jolynn Forman. Their mentorship helped shape me as an artist, but also gave me the confidence to pursue this path seriously. 

Today, I paint everything from religious themes and portraits to landscapes and wildlife, but my heart is always pulled toward visual storytelling that reflects faith, beauty, and belonging. I often use religious symbolism in my work because I hope people not only see my art, but feel it. I want people to know they are not alone. That they’re loved. That God is aware of them. And I hope they see a little bit of that message in my art.

Someday, I hope to work directly for the Church, creating artwork that helps others feel closer to Christ. That’s the dream. But for now, I just keep showing up, painting with purpose, and giving all the glory to God—because I know I couldn’t do any of this without Him.
